We’re Kaitlyn and Suzanne, a mother-daughter team on a mission to equip future doulas with everything they need to thrive in this rewarding career. Kaitlyn learned much of what she knows about postpartum care and breastfeeding support working alongside her mother, Suzanne. Now we teach that same hands-on approach to you. We understand that becoming a labor and postpartum doula is more than learning the basics. It’s about gaining real experience and the confidence to truly support families. That’s why we teach the essentials and make sure you’re ready to step into real homes, work with real families, and land real jobs.

Kaitlyn Foster, PNP, RN
As a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse, owner of Queen City Doulas—a successful doula agency in Charlotte—and mom of two boys, Kaitlyn knows firsthand the whirlwind that comes with starting a family. After experiencing the support of her own mother, Suzanne, during her postpartum period, she was inspired to provide the same high-quality care to other families.
She believes that every family deserves personalized, thoughtful support. Postpartum Support Academy teaches aspiring doulas how to offer this level of support to their clients, while also giving them the skillset to build thriving businesses.
Suzanne Wentworth, MPH, RN
Suzanne is a Registered Nurse with a Master’s in Public Health and over 25 years of experience as a mother-baby nurse. As a former nursing instructor at the University of Virginia, she’s a true expert in maternal-child health, and specializes as a lactation consultant and newborn care specialist. She brings both clinical expertise and deep empathy to every family she supports.
Suzanne’s passion is helping new moms breastfeed successfully and helping veteran moms reach their breastfeeding goals. She brings that same calm, nurturing wisdom to the classroom, preparing new doulas to be a steady, knowledgeable presence for the families they serve.
As Kaitlyn’s mother and the inspiration behind Queen City Doulas, she’s spent a lifetime passing on the art of nurturing across generations.
